The article presents an overview of scientific works devoted to the pedagogical ideas of K.D. Ushinsky and published in the journal "Soviet Peda-gogy" in the 1940s. The authors of the analyzed scientific articles are famous educational scientists (N.K. Goncharov, N.A. Konstantinov, E.N. Medynsky, V.Yu. Struminsky, etc.) and psychological scientists (B.G. Ananyev). The rele-vance of the ideas of K.D. Ushinsky for Soviet education is analyzed.
The article discusses the main ideas of developmental learning by K.D. Ushinsky and their relevance in modern teaching methods. The main attention is focused on the principles of clarity, systematicity and consistency in the assimilation of educational material, as well as consciousness, activity and in-dependence of students in learning. Based on these principles, the author of the article examines the connection between the ideas of K.D. Ushinsky and the modern method of "worksheets" in teaching. Worksheets are a modern teaching method that promotes the implementation of independent learning of children in school lessons. The article also discusses the features of this technique.
