The article is devoted to the problem of language-practice learning competence of student of the faculty of foreign languages at the teacher training university. The author gives the definition of language-practice learning competence, describes its structural components, characterizing their functions and contents, and analyzes demands which make basic component of the process of forming this kind of competence.

The article deals with the problem of the self-educational competence of the future linguist-interpreters. The self-competence is considered in connection with the foreign language training competence of professional linguist. In particular, stresses the importance of forming of the self-educational competence of the future linguist-interpreters in learning process at the university.
