The article briefly presents the history of the English and German departments of the Department of foreign languages. The time span is 20 years: from 1970 to 1990. The article provides information, first of all, about the most prominent teachers, whose contribution to the development of the department is difficult to overestimate. Examples of the interaction of students and teachers are given, and the participation of two departments in the development of a harmonious system of work with school teachers is described.

One of the basic principles of preschool education: introducing children to the socio-cultural norms, traditions of the family, society and the state [4, p. 3]. The implementation of the education system that provides education for patriots of Russia is impossible without knowledge of their region, their Homeland. The process of cognition of the younger preschooler is realized in a visual and effective form, when the child directly comes into contact with the surrounding world, and here it is difficult to overestimate the role of models that arouse a keen interest in children.

The article is devoted to the problem of designing of tourism and local history activities at school. At the beginning of the article, we are talking about the relevance of this issue in the process of teaching a school geography course. This is the substantiation of the essence of the regional component in this activity. The article proposes and discloses the model of use designing of tourism and local history activities in the process of teaching students at school.

The article presents the experience of a teacher of additional education with students on research of a local history nature, reveals some forms of work on research with the aim of educating schoolchildren to respect the history and traditions of their small homeland, the formation of life values in the process of acquaintance with cultural, spiritual, everyday traditions, the development and support of students' interest in research activities.
