In the presented article, the problem of the development of logical thinking of younger schoolchildren in the process of mathematical activity is considered. The features of the development of this type of thinking in primary school age are determined, the essence of the concepts of "logical thinking" and "text task" is revealed. The results of experimental work on the formation of logical thinking in younger schoolchildren are identified and analyzed, and the necessary conditions for its successful development are indicated.
The article reveals the problem of the formation of logical thinking techniques in children of primary school age, in particular the method of classification, which indicates the urgent need for the formation of this technique in children in the process of mathematical education. The necessary psychological and pedagogical conditions under which the classification will be formed most effectively are noted.
