The authors discuss the feasibility of studying one of the areas of modern technologies by schoolchildren. The basic terms of nanotechnology, historical facts of a new field of science and technology, the main content of the curriculum of supplementary educational program are presented in the article.

The authors present the results of testing the specialized website "Tekhnoveds", designed to explore the elements of the XXI century technology in additional technological training of schoolchildren. Website is based on the use of network technologies.
