The article describes some methods of teaching intercultural communication through assignments for students in the process of forming intercultural competence in the context of cultural dialogue and studying foreign languages.
Educational institutions have recently recognized that soft skills are on par with hard skills, and they should be developed throughout the learning journey of each student. Self-reflection is one of the soft skills that can benefit learners not only after course completion but also during the learning process. The aim of this article is to give a short overview of the literature that unravels the importance of guiding students’ self-reflection in the EFL classroom. It also focuses on the prerequisites that should be considered to make self-reflective activities more beneficial and efficient.
