The author deals with the issues of cultural development and professional training of future teachers of History and English as a Foreign Language. Preparing students for their future professional activity in the field of education we should bear in mind that studying languages and culture, integrating academic, research and cultural activities in socio-cultural regional environment give a strong impetus to professional growth and cultural development of the graduate.
The article touches upon the issue of forming communicative competence while teaching foreign languages. The author describes the opportunities of realizing cross-cultural communication and modeling dialogue of cultures in a foreign language classroom, putting a special emphasis on the significance of using art materials in forming the worldview, the feeling of tolerance to cultural values of the target culture.
Communicative competence is one of the most important personal features. The article presents its value for individuals and different ways of its forming in accordance to the present socio-cultural environment. The author is sure that future teachers’ readiness for the effective dialogue of cultures is the most important issue in the communicative competence developing.
