The subject of analysis in this article is the position and role of social– humanitarian disciplines in a technical university. The authors pay attention to the fact that these disciplines play an important role in the scientist global-view and in the formation of general cultural competences. It is emphasized that the most important competencies are: to work in a team, to bear conscious and legal responsibility, readiness for self– development.

The article is devoted to the study and analysis of the role of sociology in public administration and economics in the context of modern geopolitical dynamics. It is noted that social sciences have a significant impact on decision-making in the public sector and business. Thus, modern governance requires the integration of sociological research for a deeper understanding of social processes and the development of effective strategies adapted to changes in the global political environment.
