This article is devoted to the development of speed abilities in schoolchildren aged 14–15 years in athletics lessons. Athletics is an integral part of the educational process of schoolchildren. Often, basic exercises are not enough to qualitatively develop speed abilities. That is why the author, after analyzing the scientific literature, proposed a methodology with a set of exercises that favorably affect the improvement of speed indica-tors. The conducted pedagogical experiment helped to prove the effectiveness of the pro-posed complex.
A methodology for determining the wear resistance of materials and coatings under hydroabrasive cutting has been developed. To implement the methodology's requirements, a setup was developed that allows testing at various speeds and angles of impact of various hydroabrasive media on the sample. Tests on model materials showed consistent results with published data. Research on the wear resistance of various materials and coatings using the developed methodology will help select the most wear-resistant materials or adjust the formulations being developed.
