The article is concerned with the issue of using English-language texts of the detective genre in the classroom with students in the field of preparation “International Relations”. The author suggests a methodology to develop analytical reading and stylistic analysis skills of detective works. The article describes the stages and results of the experiment, which made it possible to determine its effectiveness.
