The article focuses on the analysis of the educational systems of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ghana. The authors consider the problems students from Ghana can face when getting an academic degree in the universities of Russia. Factors that determine the academic success of foreign students studying at higher educational establishments in Russia are described.
