The purpose of the study is to assess the possibility of studying the "image of the world" of children by analyzing their speech. The article considers the views of Russian psychologists on the concept of "the image of the world", its structural organization, psychological functions and genesis. In the article, special attention is paid to the relationship between speech and the "image of the world" and the "semantic picture of the world" of the child. The practical importance of the article is determined by the rationale of new tools of studying the child's "image of the world."
The general features uniting various philosophical teachings into a single representation of the concept «Fire» are exposed in the article; the peculiarities of various teachings about the physical agents of fire are revealed, some semantic and figurative features of the phenomenon under study are also analyzed here.
An attempt is made to characterize a fragment of the child's worldview by considering the thematic composition of language units related to the game vocabulary. Attention is drawn to the fact that in the process of modeling nominations, the child relies on the experience of verbal and nonverbal interaction with an adult. This correlation is reflected in innovations that illustrate the age and gender characteristics of language reflection.
