The task with parameter is traditionally included in the control materials of the Unified state examination(USE) in mathematics and is evaluated with maximum points. At the same time for various reasons these tasks are devoted very little time in school. The authors who have great experience in checking exam papers show on example of a task, its level of difficulty corresponding with the requirements to such tasks at the examination(USE) in mathematics in recent years, different ways of solving it: analytical (different options), graphical in the system (x;y) and graphical in the system (x;a). Proposed solutions are described in detail with the indication of typical mistakes made by students. The authors give some methodological recommendations which enable to organize teaching of students to solve tasks with parameters more effectively.

The article analyzes the results of the USE in mathematics in 2018 in the Kirov region. The statistical data are given, allowing to compare the results in the region with the average results for the Russian Federation, as well as to trace the dynamics of the results in the region. Authors with extensive experience in checking-up exam papers describe typical mistakes of students and difficulties they face.
