The article is devoted to the formation of students' transprofessional competencies (soft skills), the use of modern trends in foreign language education, and the training of foreign language teachers. The author considers the developing potential of using modern forms of organizing foreign language classes in order to increase the effectiveness of the learning process in the context of current changes in the educational environment.

The article presents a tool for assessing universal and general professional competencies of future lawyers in the format of integrated cases. It has been shown that they enhance the formative function of competence assessment and make it possible to use relevant procedures not only for control purposes, but also for the personal and professional development of students. Practical illustrations of research novelty are presented using the example of practice-oriented training of lawyers in a legal clinic.
