A comparison is made between modern and older software products that allow automating the develop of anthropomorphic manikin based on the values of the leading anthropometric variables, including taking into account extrapolation of data for the year of interest. The necessity of using the automatic modelling of the manikin`s working pose according to the given geometric restrictions when placing it at the workplace is considered. Additional features of modern software tools are reviewed, which make it possible to simplify or automate the ergonomic assessments of helicopter crew workplaces using the available 3D model of the cockpit.
