The paper analyzes the key trends of socio-pedagogical education, their crucial role in the selection of the content of the preparation of professional social workers.

Features of the organization of volunteer movement of youth at the level of local community are considered in the article, the main concepts of volunteering, work forms with the volunteer organizations are revealed.

The actual problem of social-cultural activity of boarding schools directed on process of social adaptation of orphan children and children who have remained without guardianship of parents is considered in the article.
