The article reflects the activities of the chair of pedagogy of the Siberian State University of physical culture and sports. The author shares the experience of work of the chair on its basic directions.

The author describes the Christian-religious approach to understanding the problems of obtaining and stor-ing knowledge. In addition, the author provides the brief analysis of the ideas of Descartes and S.L.Frank. The main idea of this paper is that, in the Christian religion, the knowledge of a person is bestowed by God. Singling out the Christian-religious approach to other approaches, we reveal one of the many important as-pects of this problem.

The article is devoted to the development of cultural competence connected with the skills in the field of the native language. Presents the possibilities of development of this competence in the framework of disci-pline «Teaching business communication».
