The article investigates ideoethnic characteristics of Russian and British communities through two types of analysis: on the basis of social and business characteristics presented in the model of cultural dimensions typology by G. Hofstede and the linguistic analysis of phraseological units. The relevance of the work is confirmed by the formulation of business strategies in Russian and British business environment for effective intercultural interaction.

In this article, the author tries to work out a set of basic indicators for sustainable development of transport systems and territory improvement in large cities in accordance with the previously identified common goals and objectives of sustainable development. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of unified parameters for evaluation of urban transport functioning, its infrastructure systems and the efficiency of architectural development in large cities at the present stage. To obtain the final result, several systems of indicators, proposed by foreign and Russian authors, were analyzed.
