In the article, the author examines the problem of forming motivation for cognitive activity, considers the variety of forms of motivation in the learning process. The article presents various technologies for developing motivation in students through their use in foreign language lessons, and their effectiveness is indicated.
The paper outlines the content and structure of the fundamental concepts in this case, namely, «motive» and «motivation», which make up such an important characteristic for learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular as cognitive motivation. The paper also describes the conditions for the emergence of this motivation in children, including in the course of educational activities, analyzes the ways of developing cognitive motivation in this process. Special attention is paid to such a method as the use of animated films – video materials that provide ample opportunities for learning a foreign language at school.
This article analyzes the possibility of using mobile applications as one of the ways to study foreign languages by medical college students. The positive and negative aspects of working with sites for learning a foreign language in general and language chats HelloTalk, in particular, are considered as addi-tional means of learning foreign languages and limiting motivation.
