The article is devoted to the problem of speech therapy disorders formation at preschool children with ONR prosodic aspects of speech that have a negative impact on the development of other components of the speech competence of children, reduce the effectiveness of speech communication. The article analyzes the results of the conducted comprehensive experimental study.

The article deals with stylistic ways of creating female characters in the classical works of W.S. Maugham and O. Wilde. The writers’ imagery is viewed within the context of motifs and themes touched upon in the novels “Theatre” and “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. Parallels are drawn between the personages of actresses introduced in Maugham and Wilde’s writing. The author comes to the conclusion that Maugham and Wilde’s characterization is based upon a frequent use of tropes showing high expressive potential.
