The article is devoted to the consideration of the influence of extralinguistic factors on the development of the language lexicon. Using the examples of many neologisms that have appeared in German during the coronavirus pandemic global crisis and describing changes the meanings of words already existing in the language, the author analyzes the influence of an extraordinary situation in the world not only on people's daily lives, but also on the language itself.

The relevance of the topic is due to the emergence of new problems and aspects of monetary policy because of the pandemic in Russia, in connection with which the inflation rate by years is presented, as well as three schemes of the economic situation development.
