This paper studies the resistance of polyurea coatings to the action of a hydro-abrasive medium containing 60 wt % silicon carbide with a particle size of 1 3 mm and 40 wt % water. The experiments conformed to STO 52483924 001 2026. The duration of each experiment is 1 hour, the rotation speed of the samples is 400 rpm, and the sample dimensions are 50x50x2 mm. The results showed that polyureas of the type «Extraplan 501» produced by «Huntsman-NMG» have the maximum resistance. Sufficiently high stability indicators are also typical for polyureas produced by AO Khimtrast (joint stock company). The resistance of these materials exceeds the resistance of the previously studied ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene GUR 4150, polyurea Elastocoot 6335/134 and polyurethane EP SKU PT 74.
In article the questions concerning durability, rigidity and mechanical tests of elements of aviation designs are considered
A review of long-term studies on the durability of basalt fiber-reinforced polymer composites operated in cold climate conditions is presented. The necessity of an integrated analysis at the micro-, meso-, and macro-scale levels is substantiated. The key degradation mechanisms of the epoxy matrix within the composite structure are identified, including moisture and thermal diffusion processes, UV-induced degradation, biological impact, and the development of internal stresses under thermal cycling, which lead to changes in fiber–matrix interfacial adhesion and defect accumulation. The advantages of basalt composites over glass fiber-reinforced composites in terms of property retention during prolonged service are demonstrated.
The absence of reliable methods for predicting the durability of polymer composite materials (PCMs) in Arctic environments increases operational risks and costs. This study aims to develop a combined semi-empirical method for estimating the remaining service life of PCMs under extreme conditions. The proposed approach integrates the superposition of climatic factors with the minimization of the standard deviation between calculated and experimental data. Calculations are automated using the Delphi programming environment. Validation on polymer fiber composites demonstrated model convergence for retrospective intervals of at least seven years. The method supports the prediction of residual service life over a 15-year period.
Successful long-term experience (since 1982) in field testing of linear polymer insulators on existing Yakutskenergo power transmission lines (35 kV and 110 kV)shows advantages over traditional insulators made of glass and porcelain in the extreme climate of the North. The estimated durability of polymer insulators is approximately 40 years. Further field tests of suspended polymer insulators would be valuable in determining the durability and reliability of electrical and mechanical parameters of polymer insulators and would allow them to be recommended as highly reliable products for industrial energy in the North.
