The article tells about the reason of scientific knowledge and it’s importance in native utopia and dystopia of the second half of XX century. Great importance is given to the motive influence on the plot, retention of the canonic sound or reception of a new ring. The author compares novelets of utopian and dystopian content – ‘Midday, XXII century (return)’ by A. and B. Strugatsky and ‘Lubimov’ by Terz.
The image of the main character (protagonist) in the ideostyle of dystopian and utopian D. Glukhovsky’s novels is discussed in the article. The relationship with the works of previous literary periods and creatures of another authors, E. Zamyatin «We», for example, is traced. The linguistic techniques used to create the protagonist are analyzed; the conclusion about the dystopian genre originality in modern literature in general, and in D. Glukhovsky’s oeuvre in particular is made.
The article examines aspects of animalism and anthropomorphism in the dystopia of J. Orwell's «Animal Farm». In the tradition of animalism, Orwell humanizes animals, turning them into a protest community whose anger is directed against human tyranny. At the same time, the writer creates an angry satire on the bourgeois system, which turns people into working cattle.
Artistic works have a certain impact on the development of society, through the formation of values and ideals, they also reflect the problems and fears of society, and to some extent play a predictive role. Utopias and dystopias, as literary works, have always been of interest to readers, and at the present time their relevance is related to developing technologies that pose new challenges to society. The analysis will make it possible to understand the role of utopias and dystopias in the modern world.
