A definition of the «learners’ educational needs monitoring» notion is substantiated in the paper, and the subject’s specificity is shown in the circumstances of education individualization. The author’s experience of training of prospective teachers to monitor the educational needs of learners – while projecting for them in-dividual educational trajectories – is presented.

The paper deals with inclusion of children with special educational needs in main educational system. The author examines the etymology of the concepts "educational needs", "special educational needs", "children with special educational needs." Emphasis is placed on systematizing categorical apparatus of the concept of "children with special educational needs" and clarifying its essence.
The article analyzes the introduction of new educational standards in basic general education, focuses on its main components, and notes the advantages of education in accordance with them. The author also emphasizes that the third-generation FGOS differs from the previous one by innovations in the content base, for which schools should be ready.
