The article is aimed at considering the influence of fiction, which is one of the most important sources of comprehensive development of the personality of a preschooler and has a great influence on the development and replenishment of the inner world of a preschooler with new information.
Through the analysis of the symbols and their role in Ivan Bunin's 'Clean Monday' we try to substantiate their role in the work, to convey the writer's message and the idea of the work. The main purpose of the article is to show Bunin's «Clean Monday» as a complete and multifaceted work, highlighting all the meanings that are accessible to the reader through an analysis of the symbols used.
The article is aimed at studying the influence of works of art, which are one of the most important sources of comprehensive development of the personality of a primary school age and pay great attention to the development and replenishment of the inner world of a primary school agewithinformation.
The article reveals the possibility of forming socio-moral ideas among older preschoolers using fiction. Experimental work is described to determine the level of emotional attitude to moral norms according to the methods of R. M. Kalinina «Plot pictures» and a modified version of situations by R. M. Kalinina «Finish the story».

The article discusses the effectiveness of the use of fiction in the education of responsiveness in children of the group preparatory to school. An attempt is made to explain the possibilities of fiction in the development of children's ability to respond to the state of another person, understanding his experience.
