this article discusses the need to comply with the rules of business etiquette when conducting operational meetings in a company. This is especially important for teaching students who plan further work in joint ventures. In this regard, various types of meetings and their distinguishing features are indicated in the article. Features of UK business etiquette are examined in more detail, as this is one of the components of the planned work. The importance of developing a specific gesture card for the correct behavior of students of technical universities at an operational meeting when teaching English is emphasized. The article presents a model for assessing the individual risk of accidents in underground gas pipelines under abnormal meteorological conditions in the North. Abnormal meteorological conditions in the North are characterized by low ambient temperatures and strong, prolonged temperature inversions combined with calm weather. These external environmental parameters have an impact on both the frequency of accidents and the range of the damaging factors in an accident.
