The article analyzes the advantages of independent work for students, such as the development of independence, increased interest in the subject and active participation in the learning process. Various methods and techniques of organizing independent work are considered, including working in pairs or groups, using games and tasks, as well as the use of information and communication technologies. In conclusion, the article provides recommendations on the organization of independent work in mathematics lessons in elementary school to achieve maximum effect in teaching students.
The article focuses on the problems of teaching 1st year students of linguistics to analyze fiction. The author considers the possibilities of developing students’ reading skills and skills of analyzing a short story by introducing a series of tasks and assignments aimed at finding, processing and interpreting the information in a work of fiction. The author provides examples of tasks that serve the purpose of developing students’ communicative skills, teaching them to do research on the problem in question and present the results of their research in class. Tasks that presuppose in-depth analysis of the cultural and historical background of a story are essential as they give students a better understanding of the historical and cultural context of the events described in a work of fiction and of the author’s philosophical conception. Such tasks are significant for pre-translation analysis.
