The article deals with the importance of international relations students’ professional identity formation through learning a foreign language. The purpose of the article is to show the most effective technologies for professional identity formation used in the process of teaching a foreign language. It has been found that the study of international relations, history and structure of international organizations, as well as, holding of diplomatic role-playing games in a foreign language contribute not only to the development of communication skills but also to international relations students’ professional identity formation.
The article reveals the peculiarities of the preparation and organization of the international negotiation process. It includes scientific literature observation devoted to interpersonal interaction in the process of communication aimed at achieving an acceptable solution for the actors of negotiation practices. It shows the results of an online survey of international relations students' opinion on the importance of understanding the negotiation process in the professional activity of a diplomat.
