Modern educational technologies are closely related to conducting a search on the Internet. Schoolchildren spend more and more time on the Web, performing the tasks of teachers, searching for the necessary in-formation, communicating with their comrades. And it is absolutely necessary that the schoolchildren them-selves should be aware of the hazards associated with the use of the Network and are critical of the infor-mation received on the Internet. The authors attempted to investigate the relation of schoolchildren to the Network, the need to use it for preparing assignments and self-development. Authors, using the Kimberly Young test and a number of others, tested schoolchildren from the 8th to 11th grade. The article discusses the results of the study.

In the article various approaches to definition of concepts « competence», «pedagogical competence» are considered, the structure of professional competence of the teacher, mechanisms of its formation is presented. Forms of the organization of training of students of pedagogical specialties in conditions of network interaction of HIGH SCHOOLS and general educational establishments are described.
The article deals with the relevance of networking as a promising direction of improving the quality of education. The definition of professional competence of a teacher is given, as well as the main ways of professional competence development. The article shows the necessity of implementation of networking in the form of organization and conduct of outbound methodical seminars between educational institutions.
