The article presents the experience of using the method of storytelling (narrative approach) with an open ending as a means of developing emotional intelligence in children aged 5-7 years. Specific techniques of work are described: stories with an open ending, emotional lotto, pantomime, creation of a "box of anger". The diagnostic results are presented, showing positive dynamics in the recognition, understanding and regulation of emotions by preschoolers. The material is addressed to preschool educators and educational psychologists.
