The article discusses the symbolism of the moon image in the short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The functions of the moon image-symbol in the stories structure, in psychological hero portrait creation, in the romantic landscape are defined. The symbol of the moon is analyzed in its connection with other images: sea, ship, music. The authors emphasize the interaction between symbolic and impressionistic principles in Fitzgerald’s poetics.

Today, children are full of aggression, anger, cruelty, all of these factors are caused by stress factors. It is during adolescence that children are very vulnerable and have a tendency to stress. Adolescents most often have problems related particularly to motivation and resistance to stress. These problems are very closely related to each other, and they require a specific solution.

The article reveals the main individual and psychological features of professional self-determination of high school students in urban and rural schools, describes internal and external factors that influence the choice of profession. Professional self-determination is influenced by a number of objective factors, one of which is the region of residence. Having a number of features of the socio-economic plan, the place of residence creates different social conditions, puts forward different requirements for subjects of self-determination. Based on this, we found that the region where young men and women live can act as one of the factors of professional self-determination of their personality, expanding, or Vice versa, limiting the process of professional self-determination.
