The psychological defense mechanisms of the seniors are called upon to resolve conflicts arising in the period of preparation for final state certification. Concepts such as "youth", "the personality of high school student", "psychological protection", "coping strategies", etc.

Article is devoted to modern teenagers. In it such phenomenon as psychological protection of teenagers is analyzed. The role and value of psychological protection for teenage age is considered. The emphasis in article is placed on consideration of psychological protection in the context of the sociometric status. The relevance of a subject for modern society and for teenage age is proved. In article results of an empirical research of psychological protection of teenagers with the different sociometric status are presented and analysed. Article comes to the end with the recommendations formulated on the basis of the received results.

The article describes the results of an experimental study of the mechanisms of psychological protection in children of 6 years of age. Many personal and social problems (addiction, social deviation, fears, family conflicts, etc.) are rooted in violations of adaptive processes. In this regard, there is a growing interest in mechanisms of psychological protection that contribute to psychological well-being and successful overcoming of difficulties. The sample consisted of 30 children of primary school age (6 years).
