The article deals with the issues of macroeconomic indicators and retail trade, its importance and necessity. A correlation model is considered by means of revealing the interrelation of macroeconomic indicators on the activities of retail trade.

The relevance of the problem under study is due to the low efficiency of government support for small business in retail trade in cities, which negatively affects the level and quality of service to the population. The purpose of the study is to analyze and systematize forms of government support for small businesses in the retail sector. The author has worked out a typology of forms of government support for small businesses in retail trade based on a morphological matrix. Disadvantages are identified and recommendations are proposed for improving the forms of government support for small retail business at the municipal level.
