In this paper the author examines the religious rituals, the essence of which is the embodiment of religious ideas, an expression of belonging to a particular religious cult is a symbolic collective actions focused on the metaphysical objects. The author draws attention to religion, the basis of which is the belief in the supernatural, it assumes the existence of bilateral relations between the person and the object of worship. Religious rites continue to occupy an important place in human life, in spite of the modern pace of life and a certain workability in the development of civilization. This is connected with the age-old traditions, as well as the internal necessity of support from above, the belief in the existence of a higher justice.
The article examines the role of American and British holidays as stable carriers of the national cultural code. The analysis of festive practices shows that they function not merely as public holidays or entertainments, but as symbolic systems transmitting historical memory, value orientations and social norms of the two Anglo-Saxon cultures. Through a comparison of rituals, symbolism and historical contexts, the author emphasizes the way holidays shape collective identity, consolidate foundational myths and adapt to contemporary globalization challenges.
