The article discusses the possibility of introducing interactive teaching methods into the practice of teaching foreign languages at the University, where the teacher is given the role of a tutor accompanying the learning process and students are put in the center of the learning process. Tutoring forms of intercultural communication have proved to be effective strategies for the development of foreign language competences.
The article deals with interactive forms of work that contribute to the formation of communicative competence of schoolchildren.The specifics of using interactive forms of work are considered on the example of the textbook «English in focus» (Spotlight) for the 6th grade of general education institutions. The author comes to the conclusion that there are enough exercises based on interactive forms of work on the pages of the textbook (Spotlight) for the 6th grade that enable schoolchildren to develop their communicative competence. Among them are: «brainstorming», project activities, interviews, role-playing games, “group puzzles”.
