In this article, drawing on a number of unpublished sources, and historical studies analyzed musical creative activity POWs of World War II in Siberia in the years 1914-1920 and its contribution to the development of professional musical culture of the region. This paper mainly deals participation of prisoners of war in the musical life of the Krasnoyarsk the said period. But, as the facts show, in many other cities in the region in the years flowed similar processes of social and cultural interaction between foreign prisoners and Siberians. The findings of the study results significantly expand our knowledge of the musical reality of Krasnoyarsk 1914-1920 period. They can be used in the lectures of the course "History of Musical Culture of Siberia", introduced in the educational process in higher education institutions of the Siberian region. This work will be of interest to international scientific community for further multilateral study of this phenomenon.
The article considers one of the most interesting objects of Tobolsk, which in the near future may become one of the iconic places of the city and its surroundings in terms of demand and attendance by tourists, both local and visitors from other regions and foreign countries. Already today it offers visitors a wide range of services and experiences: historical, architectural, natural, landscape, botanical, educational, etc. The possibility of organizing industrial practices for students of biological, landscape, tourist and other directions in it, reconstruction of historical events taking place at this place during the "Capture of Siberia", creation of virtual museum expositions related to Ermak and the development of Siberia is not excluded. In our opinion, such a step as the organization of a museum of Siberia here at the origins of Siberia is possible., or the Ermak Museum.
This article examines the activities of famous graduates of the Tobolsk gymnasium of the second half of the XIX century – early XX centuries, their biographies and the history of their life path are given, their scientific and social work is evaluated in order to include biographical essays in the Biographical Dictionary of graduates of the Tobolsk classical gymnasium of the XIX – early XX centuries. Among the graduates of the gymnasium are famous teachers, heads of educational institutions: Vladimir Modestovich Bradis, Mitrofan Alekseevich Vodyannikov, Boris Nikolaevich Gorodkov, Arkady Stepanovich Znamensky, Sergey Pavlovich Sword, Vasily Mikhailovich Novitsky, Ivan Yakovlevich Slovtsov, Gavriil Konstantinovich, Tarunin Mikhail Petrovich, Anatoly Aleksandrovich Ternovsky, etc. All of these people were engaged not only in pedagogical, but also in research activities, successfully combining the educational process with expeditionary and laboratory research. This cohort also includes rectors of Kazan University Andrey Kirillovich Chugunov, a scientist and technologist of glass production and Nikolai Alexandrovich Kremlev, a specialist in the field of Roman law. Another group of researchers unites scientific activities in the field of geology research: Yakov Antonovich – Makerov, Director of the Far Eastern Department of the Geological Committee, Mikhail Mikhailovich Filatov, Professor of soil Science.
Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources, the author considers the improvement of cities on the outskirts of the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 20th century on the example of such a significant region as Western Siberia. Attention is paid to such aspects as: paving of streets, construction of bridges and dams, lighting, water supply. The article describes in detail the activities of city governments for the development of urban improvement in the region. The construction of the Trans-Siberian railway marked a new stage in the development of Siberia, which was manifested, including in the rapid growth of the urban population, the formation of new cities, the development of the urban economy, and the complexity of urban management. In the area of improvement development, two trends can be noted: on the one hand, the growth of income of urban magistrates in fast-growing cities gave more opportunities for the development of the city's infrastructure; on the other hand, the rapid growth of the population and development, constantly multiplied the problems. In general, the modernization of urban life on the far edge of the Russian Empire was manifested not only in the economy, but also in such areas as construction, construction and improvement, which, of course, determined the changes in the appearance of cities. The proportion of stone buildings increased, and the scale of buildings increased, especially public ones – educational and medical, entertainment, cultural and educational, as well as industrial and commercial buildings. Gas and electric lights, telephone and Telegraph poles, and billboards were more and more frequently seen on the streets. Thanks to the efforts of the city government and the citizens themselves, the appearance and improvement of the region's cities changed for the better.
Based on the examples of the creative destinies of several humanities scholars (A.A. Savich, A.P. Pyankov, S.Z. Katsenbogen), who lived in the late XIX – first half of the XX century, considered the impact of complex political processes, urban and university environments in Belarus, the Urals and Siberia for the scientific and pedagogical career of intellectuals, for the formation of their ability to adapt to radically changed conditions.
