The article examines the meaning of the myth about the influence of the Mongol-Tatar yoke on the national character of the Russian people in the context of the opposition of Russia to the countries of Western Europe. The authors analyze the ethnicity of Genghis Khan’s era Mongols. They discuss the role and significance of historical myths in the geopolitical struggle.
The work is devoted to a comparative analysis of the parameters of reproduction among the peoples of the Kemerovo Region-Kuzbass – Russians, Tatars, Shors. In the populations of Shors and Russians, interethnic and intergenerational differences in age (length of reproductive periods) and vital (pregnancy outcomes) characteristics were revealed. In relation to Shors and Russians living in the Tashtagol district (ethnic territory of compact settlement of Shors), a convergence of reproductive attitudes is observed. The examined Tatars – descendants of immigrants from the Volga region – showed a pronounced uniqueness of the parameters under study. The novelty of the study is seen in the fact that for the first time a comparative assessment of the parameters of reproduction and reproductive attitudes of various ethnic groups of the Kemerovo region, related to the alien old-timer population (Russians, Tatars) and the indigenous autochthonous population (Shors) is given.
