The paper deals with the problems and prospects of light industry development in our country, and innovation as one of methods to increase competitiveness of domestic products.

The article is devoted to a topical problem of today: the risk assessment of financial and economic activities of the wholesale trade enterprises. The main attention is paid to the horizontal and vertical analyses of "Asteria" financial performance statement as well as to the risks emerged in recent years.

This article describes various types of risks as well as methods of controlling them on the example of a wholesale trade of "Asteria". A brief summary of the formation of the company, its interaction with suppliers and strategic planning activities is given. The article lays bare one of the most acute problems of today – the relationship between Russian Federation and Turkish Republic under the conditions of a complicated political situation. Political risks which cause economic risks of the enterprise are examined.
