Germany is one of the leaders in the development of renewable energy among the EU countries. Natural features and the use of new technologies allow Germany to develop actively certain types of renewable energy in its federal states. The aim of the study is to assess the renewable energy sector in the northern and southern states of Germany. In this work, the regulatory framework for renewable energy was studied; an analysis of the energy potential of the northern and southern federal states of Germany was carried out. A conclusion has been formulated about the predominance of wind energy in the northern lands, and solar and hydropower in the southern lands; about the presence of a number of problems in the renewable energy development.

Hydropower industry is the most developed area of renewable energy production in Germany. German experience in the operation of hydroelectric power plants, the use of new technologies and standardization of processes can be useful to many countries around the world. The purpose of the study is to assess the condition of hydropower industry in Germany and the prospects for its development. In the course of the work, the regulatory framework for hydropower industry was studied, a number of performance indicators of hydroelectric power plants were analyzed, and prospects for improving hydropower facilities were considered. A conclusion has been formulated about the development of hydropower industry in Germany through the modernization of old and the construction of small and large mine hydroelectric power plants.

In the modern world, markets are developing at a rapid pace. Simultaneously with them, global economic ties in a form of logistics chains complex are developing. The geographical location of countries has a significant impact on their logistics potential and ability to compete with other countries. Germany's advantageous location in the center of Europe allows it to develop freight transportation and logistics activities successfully. As a transit country, Germany is involved in many logistics processes. The logistics industry, which includes transportation, warehousing and cargo handling, is one of the largest sectors of the German economy. Therefore, studying Germany’s experience in building and developing the logistics industry can be useful both for the countries of the European Union and other countries. The aim of the study is to analyze the current conditions of the cargo transportation and logistics market in Germany. The main trends in the development of the cargo transportation and logistics market in Germany were analyzed; main statistical indicators are presented; the state of logistics and transport infrastructures was studied; the areas of government support for the logistics industry are considered. A conclusion is formulated about the high development of the logistics industry and the cargo transportation market in Germany, about the effective use of digital platforms, technologies, and modern transport equipment in the logistics industry.

The environmental problem of waste management today is an urgent task for sustainable development in all countries of the world. In this context, responsible production and consumption become one of the main goals of sustainable development. The circular economy model is increasingly recognized as the only solution to the critical situation of natural resource shortage and environmental pollution. Germany, as a developed European country, plays a significant role in international relations. Its successful experience in implementing circular economy principles at the national and federal levels can be useful for the members of the European Union and other countries. The aim of the study is to assess the degree of circular economy implementation in Germany. In the course of the work, the author makes an analysis of the current German legislation on the circular economy; examines the stages of formation, principles of operation and results of development of the waste processing and disposal industry; presents the main indicators of the circular economy implementation. Recommendations for improving Russian legislation taking into account German experience are formulated.

The analysis of the system of sustainable development indicators of the German federal states is an urgent issue, since it allows us to assess the development degree of the sustainable development concept and the system of sustainability indicators at the regional level, determine the contribution of each federal state to the achievement of German national indicators and, as a result, UN Sustainable Development Goals. The aim of the study is to compare the system of German sustainable development indicators at the federal and regional levels. In the course of the work, an analysis of the universal system of LiKi indicators of German federal states was made; the structure of the thematic fields and sub - indicators of states is represented; sub-indicators of states and German sustainable development indicators are compared; the contribution of federal states in achieving German Sustainable Development Goals has been evaluated.
