The article deals with the aspect of cadets’ individual study organization in the sphere of foreign languages using an electronic textbook. It also describes pedagogical conditions that promote the effectiveness of individual study. It gives the examples of tests for self-monitoring of the studied material with the usage of an electronic textbook.

The article deals with the concept of "information and communication competence" and its components in accordance with the European Digital Competence Framework. The experience of using information online resources in teaching a foreign language in a university is presented. In article the problem of early training in a foreign language in the system of continuous education "kindergarten – school" is considered. Importance of ensuring flexible transition from training in a foreign language of preschool children to training of younger school students is reasoned. The technique of early training in a foreign language in the system of continuous education "kindergarten – elementary school" is presented, process of a game during which the foreign language was used as the means of communication has been taken as a basis of training.
