In the modern world, with the expansion of international cooperation in all areas of life, a specialist with a higher education should have an ever higher level of language training for professional activity and further professional growth. Knowledge of a foreign language in the modern world is also necessary for a lawyer.

This article deals with the implementation of situational games in primary school. The author emphasizes the efficiency of using gaming technologies in general. The article includes the results of the survey of foreign language teachers made by the author and gives recommendations of including and using gaming technologies in the process of teaching English.

This article is devoted to the role of the competency-based approach in foreign education. The author notes the formation of necessary competences during students training at foreign language classes according to federal state educational standards requirements. Also, the foreign language is defined as a cultural element. Such concepts as "competence" and "competency" are considered and also the essence of these terms is described.
