The purpose of this article is to determine the pedagogical conditions that effectively promote the development of thrift in children aged 5-6 years within the framework of project activities. Various approaches and methods aimed at the formation of a thrifty attitude to resources are analyzed. The substantive components of the manifestation of thrift in preschool children are also studied, including a conscious attitude to material and non-material resources, respect for the work of adults and an understanding of the value of nature.

The study describes various approaches to the organization of project activities aimed at developing critical thinking, research skills and creativity in children. Examples of successful projects that contribute to the formation of sustainable natural science concepts are given, as well as the results of their implementation in the educational process are analyzed.

This article examines the problem of mastering the metacognitive competence of students and their ability to independently organize their educational trajectory. To increase the effectiveness of teaching, the teacher can use the means of project activities. The author reveals one of the ways to solve the problem – a workbook on project activities for 10th grade students, which is based on the formation of soft skills.
