The article discusses the main concepts included in the definition of «assortment management», gives a General scheme of methods for managing product ranges, analyzes the methods and features of» category management», identifies the main problems and possible errors in the organization of strategies, as well as the main tasks and goals of the assortment policy of a commercial enterprise.
The article is devoted to the study of the range of drinking yoghurts, which make up a significant share in the structure of consumption of dairy products. The author examines the structure of the yogurt assortment in the Pyaterochka supermarket, depending on the manufacturer, and highlights that the main companies are five companies with a share of more than sixty percent. In addition, the range was studied depending on volume, fat content and lactose, and assumptions were made about the further development of this market segment.
The paper considers the formation of an assortment policy strategy for IP Voronin A.S., which implements window and door products based on the study of completeness, stability, assortment structure and the construction of a BKG matrix. It is determined that the key commodity items are divided into the following segments: "wild cats" – vertical blinds, "stars" – metal entrance doors, "cash cows" – metal-plastic windows, "dogs" – swing gates.
