The article describes the experience of the team competition on the geometric design containing the problem of open and semi-open type and is based on the principles of the activity approach to teaching mathematics. A version of the work for pupils of 8-9 classes, which was proposed by the students as part of the day of physical and mathematical knowledge of innovative educational project "Days of scientific knowledge" in the lyceum number 21 of the city of Kirov.

The educational project presented in the article is designed to solve fully or partially the problem of cognitive interest development among schoolchildren in the process of learning literature in general and reading literary works in particular. To achieve the result, it is proposed to use the didactic tool “A casket of literary exhibits” in literature teaching practice, which involves the use of various methods contributing to active, creative, and cognitive activity of students in the educational process. The work of students with creative tasks results in a folder-portfolio with the products of educational creative activity of children. The project may be interesting for teachers of literature as an option to increase the motivation of students in learning the subject.
