Distance education is generally defined as one in which the learner is separated from the instructional base or teacher, either in space or time, for a significant portion of their learning. This article describes the main achievements and current development in the field of open and distance learning in Sub-Saharan Africa. Distance education is viewed as an appropriate method of education delivery.

The paper analyzes modern requirements to educational space based on the concept of lifelong education. The authors describe framework characteristics applicable to the supervisor focused on the need for changes in the logic and structure of vocational education. Special attention is paid to the development of professionally important specialist’s qualities as a subject of innovative activity.
On September 27-28, in the framework of the anniversary events of the branch of the Cube State University in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban (25 years) and the Moscow region Slavyansk region (95 years), a scientific-practical conference «Pedagogical University in the socio-cultural and educational space of the region» and a round table were held «Educational and research potential of schools and universities as a factor in the development of education». The discussion was organized by Dr. ist. sciences, professor T. S. Anisimova, doctor psych. Sciences, professor Pryazhnikova E. Yu., doctor ped. Sciences, Professor N. B. Zinovieva. The discussion was attended by scientists, teachers and heads of vocational schools, secondary schools, preschool organizations. Following the results of the round table, a resolution was adopted.
The article is devoted to the development of Higher education in Sub-Saharan Africa. The problem of education is one of the main problems in the social and economic development of this region. It is stressed that to increase the quality and topicality of educational system 4 main fields should be considered. They are policy and reforms, programmes in teaching, the preparation of pedagogical staff and innovations in education. Most African countries have underdeveloped education systems. The quality and availability of higher education is a formidable obstacle for economic and social development. There is a growing demand for higher education in the SSA, but national education systems are not able to cope fully with it. Hence, many students go abroad. The main idea of the article is that nowadays the system of education enlarges the opportunities of getting education but at the same time, it faces with a great number of problems that must be solved.
So, by the educational activity of primary school students, we mean an independent activity aimed at obtaining new knowledge, skills, methods of action and their practical application in situations of uncertainty, manifested in the acquisition of experience, having an objective or subjective novelty. One of the essential features of the portrait of a younger student is the arbitrariness of his behavior, which is expressed in initiative, willingness to take risks, the desire to create something new, the ability to plan and set goals for action in the internal plan, to find ways to achieve them, stubbornly overcoming the existing difficulties. In this article, the author made an attempt to scientific analysis and critical understanding of modern forms and methods of organizing education in primary school.
