This article describes one of the promising directions in the implementation process ecological education of the schoolchildren in the light of transition to the competent approach in the field of education. Discusses the possibility and conditions of the excursion along the ecological trail in the modern city environment that will promote formation of ecologically competent behaviour of junior schoolchildren in nature.
The article examines the multimodal approach in educational theory and practice from the point of view of psychology and didactics, and offers an expanded understanding of multimodality – not only as ways of perceiving information, but also ways of implementing the educational process. The multimodality of teacher training and profes-sional development is characterized. The features of its features in conducting lectures and practical classes are considered. The role of multimodality in the educational ecosystem is defined.
