The article is devoted to teaching students the organization of musical activity, the need for a focused teacher training, which must be combined fundamental education and profound assimilation of scientific bases of professional and practical mastery of it, with the formation of practical skills.

The paper focuses on a model of developing jazz repertory technique on specialized saxophone classes at the higher education institutions. The author analyzes Russian and foreign jazz study guides concerning text interpretation; discusses theoretical questions on jazz compositions’ rendition; provides recommendations on performing compositions close to their originals.

This article discusses how active forms of extracurricular activities contribute to the process of forming foreign language communicative competence. For this, the author conducted a study to identify the most effective forms of vigorous activity in extracurricular work. Based on this study, the author revealed that the staging, role-playing game; quest game; literary and musical living rooms are key. Also, the author developed a lesson with elements of dramatization, which shows all the advantages of active forms in extracurricular work.
