The article presents the reviews of Yu.P. Annenkov contemporary critics on his insufficiently studied novel "Heaviness", which was created in the best period of his work. Outstanding critics of the Russian diaspora V. Khodasevich and G. Adamovich unanimously noted the bright talent of the writer, but at the same time, the artistic form of the novel, which turned out to be beyond the limits of classical aesthetics and traditional approaches to plot creation, was unclear to them.
The article analyzes the problem of cosmism in studies of Russian scientists and writers. Research of cosmism problems in Russian philology starts from the beginning of the twentieth century. These studies are considered as the primary source of mythological thinking, unconsciously manifested in the creation and development of literature. In this paper basic ideas, visions and scientific conceptions of Russian thinkers from the middle of the last to the middle of the present centuries are considered. The article also briefly touched upon cosmists not only in Russian literature but in the literature of other countries. The exploration made so far shows clearly that one has to deal here with thinkers whose importance is by far greater than was thought of or assumed before. The Russian Cosmism is in fact a specific spiritual, philosophic- scientific orientation, demonstrating encyclopedic and self-relying, synthetic expression of Russian genius.
The article is devoted to the Kazakh educator Akhmet Baitursynov, a Turkologist, the founder of Kazakh linguistics and literary criticism, a reformer of national writing based on Arabic script, a translator, a public figure of the «Alash» party. In connection with the 150th anniversary of the scientist, the public of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a number of anniversary events that made it possible to rethink the scientific heritage of the “teacher of the nation”, emphasize the significance of his scientific works and pay attention to the observance of the principle of intellectual continuity. The author emphasizes the invaluable contribution of A. Baitursynov's research in the field of term formation, supports the need to use one's own resources of the Kazakh language and develop the language potential. A. Baitursynov, when creating Kazakh terms, actively used, first of all, the method of tracing, less often – semantic, morphological and syntactic methods of word formation.
Literary and critical creativity, theatrical criticism and dramaturgy, translation papers of the famous critic have been considered in the article. I have presented to the literary community previously unknown material. The activities of the critic in working with young writers have been analyzed. They, in his opinion, were a «reserve of Kazakh literature.» The significant contribution of Kalzhan Nurmakhanov to the Kazakh essays has been noted. Kalzhan Nurmakhanov was responsible, with an active life position, a polemical, sharp, principled critic. He was an eminently professional translator. Kalzhan Nurmakhanov spoke fluently in several European and Oriental languages. He read in the original many examples of world art classics. He, thanks to his talent, experienced an accelerated professional formation and development. Kalzhan Nurmakhanov contributed to the speedy entry into the all-Union cultural context of the masterpieces of Kazakh literary art. This was his main life and professional task.
