The article deals with the terminology of media education, definitions of media competence of students at technical university in the foreign language’s educative process. The author provides insight into the special aspects of media competence’s formation with the modern foreign media’ enjoyment, particularly Web 2.0 technologies. Web 2.0 technologies include Webquest, Calaméo, Gloster, LearningApps, Mindmeister, Podcasts, Quizlet, Voki, Voxopop, Wordle.
This article discusses the concept of media education, as well as issues of media competence and media literacy of the individual. Much attention is given to the question of the most preferable ways of introducing media education. The results of the study in the form of a closed type questionnaire to identify the base level of media competence of university students are analyzed.
The article presents the results of research on the role and significance of digital learning tools in the formation of media competence in foreign language education of University students, as well as the possibility of their implementation in the process of media education. This process is considered in the article from different angles, which are represented by such concepts as media competence, media culture, and media literacy. The authors also pay attention to changes in pedagogical approaches to the use of technologies in education.
The purpose of the article is to consider the global aspects of modern media education in the educational space. As a research task, the analysis of the current state of media education, media culture and media literacy and factors affecting the formation of relevant personality qualities were determined. The solution of the task was carried out on the basis of the application of General scientific research methods in the framework of comparative, logical analysis. The article highlights the factors that affect the quality and effectiveness of the formation of professional and personal characteristics of future specialists, as well as identifies the problems, place and state of media education in the global educational space. The authors present a set of solutions to improve the level of media culture and media literacy, as well as organizational and pedagogical conditions necessary to improve the effectiveness of the formation of media competence of a modern person.
This article concludes about media competence as a goal and result of media education through the prism of linguistic education. Operational relevance of the presented phenomenon, consideration of methods of its application in practice.
