The paper focuses on the development of the second-graders’ mental operations in the process of studying geometry materials. The paper presents the educational tasks, which help to master geometry topics.

The article is devoted to the urgent problem of activating the socio-psychological adaptation of students to study at a university in accordance with the requirements that the new environment establishes; it examines various forms of adaptation: superficial and complete, creating the possibility of organizing successful joint activities. An integrated approach to the formation of mental operations, taking into account its medical and biological mechanisms, is promising in correctional and pedagogical work.
